Natural Hair Rinse Recipe

Although this hair rinse requires a little bit of time for you to make, it is fairly simple, and may work miracles on your hair!

Natural Hair Rinse Ingredients

• 1/4 cup nettle

• 1/4 cup horsetail

• 3 TBSP dried basil

• 4 TBSP dried lavender

• 3 TBSP dried rosemary

• 3 to 3 1/2 cups apple cider vinegar

• Filtered drinking water

Natural Hair Rinse Directions

1. In a quart-size glass jar include all the dried herbs. Cap the jar and shake to combine, or stir using a spoon.

2. Fill the jar to 1 inch from the top of the jar with apple cider vinegar. Cap it tightly, and shake vigorously.

3. Keep the jar inside a cool, dark place for 2-4 weeks. You will need to shake it every couple of days or so. In the beginning you might notice that the herbs have absorbed a little in the vinegar. Just top your jar off with a little more vinegar to ensure that it stays about 1 inch to the top.

4. After the herbs have infused in to the vinegar for 2-4 weeks, then strain them out with cheesecloth or perhaps a clean t-shirt. You might also strain it with a good mesh sieve, then line your sieve with a coffee filter and run it through again.

5. Store your Natural hair rinse inside a thoroughly clean glass jar. Whenever you use it, dilute it with 1 part of filtered drinking water. The vinegar concentrate will last indefinitely; however water will mildew and produce bacterial growth, so do not store the rinse pre-diluted with water.

How you can make use of your Natural Hair Rinse

Following the washing of the hair as usual, combine equal parts of the prepared Natural hair rinse and water together in an empty mason jar or other container. The next recommendations should provide you with good suggestions of how much Natural hair rinse to use of every time. You might need less or more rinse based on the size and thickness of your hair.

• Short hair: ¼ cup infused vinegar to ¼ cup water

• Shoulder-length hair: ½ cup infused vinegar to ½ cup water

• Long hair: 2/3 cup infused vinegar to 2/3 cup water

Lean your head back and gradually pour the Natural rinse on your hair. Tilt your head back and forth and run your fingers through your hair while you pour the rinse in it so you can cover your whole head of hair.

You can leave the rinse in or wash out with water.
